Duke Sharp: Home
Growing up in a rhythm loving California family, Duke Sharp always knew his career would include music, but never expected to write a book about music theory. After 30 years as a professional musician and a decade as a music teacher, Sharp was inspired to write the resource book he had never been able to find on a shelf. Garage Band Theory was created as a comprehensive, practical guide for beginning and experienced players alike.
With three CDs under his belt (“Yucca Pie,” “Two Grass Crew, Gavotte in A Minor” and "Picking After Midnight”) he has two more recorded and soon to be released. “Angles,” a collection of acoustic instrumentals inspired by Grand Canyon Whitewater rafting trips and "Bozeman All-Stars," featuring several of the local A-team jazz players.
When he’s not gigging, writing or recording, you can find the 'accidental' author hiking backcountry trails, white-water rafting rivers of the west, riding his bike or jamming at one of the legendary Miller family reunions. He lives in Montana among guitars, mandolins and mountains.
